the thepokerdb logo challenge
Okay, I have a problem that I need help with…
The thepokerdb logo looks like this:

I like the way it looks, but the person who made it decided against saving it as a PhotoShop (.PSD) file. He has since been unable to re-create it in PhotoShop. I’ve asked other people in the past to try to recreate it and they’ve gotten close, but they haven’t been exact.
Here’s what I’d like to acquire: an EXACT version of the thepokerdb logo in PhotoShop layered format. If the logo is close but not exact I may still accept it but I will probably reject it. However, I’d like to put a $150 pricetag out there for an exact copy of our logo in PhotoShop. While the size of the PhotoShop image doesn’t have to be exactly the same, it should look virtually identical to our logo when reduced to our logo’s size. If I can tell the difference when just having your logo open on my computer, I probably won’t accept it.
The first person to get me an acceptable copy (to be judged by me) of it in both PSD format (layers unmerged) AND JPG format in my email inbox at natarem@gmail.com gets the money via a Stars transfer. I will amend the status at the bottom of this entry as I receive entries and I will let you know when I receive a suitable logo.

Congrats to Dan Weiss.
Yet another gem

Hi,
I would like to upgrade my version of [random holdem calculator name snipped to avoid advertising for them] to the current version. I can’t find my license to do this upgrade. Would you please be able to send my license to me again? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Um, you sure you have the right support email address?
Thanks,

Sorry for the profanity, usually this is a family blog. but…..
TiVo just announced an HD DVR
Unfortunately for me, I just bought a new Series2 80 hour TiVo. And I got the $300 service. ARGH. I wish I could take it back and get the HD version. So frustrating.
I get some goofy support emails at thepokerdb

Your stats for me (henchman51 on pokerstars) are wildly off base. Lots of the tourneys
cited I never even entered and many where I placed in the money are not listed.
I am unimpressed.
And your point is….? We get our information directly from PokerStars. All of our listings on Stars are independently confirmable through the use of the tournament history function. How can people keep denying that they played in certain events?
And when they say we’re missing stuff, they usually expect their STTs or 180-man SNGs to show up. Obviously no one bothers to read the FAQ (and therefore they don’t get a response, but that’s another matter).

People never cease to amaze me.
Apartment
I’m officially done with my first week of law school. And I’m definitely tired. It’s obvious that law school is going to be hard and very draining, but it does help that I enjoy reading about and discussing the subject matter. The next 3.5 months are going to be intense, then I get about two weeks off, then it’s back into the fire. It is supposed to get easier as we get better at reading and briefing cases.
I’ve promised a bunch of people pictures of my apartment, so here we go…
A view of my room from the doorway of my closet. That’s a 50″ Sony LCD HDTV with my big Dell laptop and my dual monitor setup hooked up to my custom-built computer (by me obv) — with an all-in-one HP Laserjet hooked up to it. Even though I am going to have my head in a book for the next three years, I haven’t forgotten my love for technology.
Another view, this time from the doorway to my room.
View from the hallway that leads to my room. My smaller Sony laptop is on the counter.
A view of the living room, which doesn’t seem like it’s going to be used very much. I did put my old Sony 32″ HDTV out there in front of the couch though, so we might be doing some football or basketball watching out there in the future. You can see the open doorway to my roommate’s room in this picture also.
I know I suck at photography — luckily I don’t want to be a professional photographer.
I still need to put up some pictures from my vacation in the Canadian Rockies, I’ll try to do that this weekend.
