Funny/cool t-shirts

One of my interests lately has been rebuilding my t-shirt collection. I found myself either wearing white/gray t-shirts from places like Foot Locker, poker site t-shirts or like some random sports team. Basically, it was boring.

So I’ve been buying a bunch of stuff.

Sites I’ve ordered from so far…

1. http://www.threadless.com
2. http://www.bustedtees.com
3. http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts

I’m looking for more places like threadless that just have cool designs. I’d like more shirts that don’t have writing on them.

That being said, this shirt is the pride of my new collection thus far…

Purchased here: http://www.bustedtees.com/shirt/dickinabox/male

If you aren’t familiar with it, it is a reference to this SNL sketch…

Blog links…

No, that isn’t the final list. I’m going to be adding them back in over the next few days. Leave a comment if you have a good blog or site and I’ll consider putting it up.

Atlanta Area Toll Roads

As part of my deal with Bluff Media with regards to thepokerdb.com, I go into their offices a few times a week to help with the redevelopment of thepokerdb.com. I live kinda close to Emory University (as I’m a law student there, although technically on a leave to pursue this opportunity) and Bluff’s offices are only about 20 min north of where I live. For those of you familiar with the area, I take 400 up to where it runs into 285.

Along that particular route, there is a troublesome 50 cent toll booth. In case you’re curious, it’s this one: Toll Booth on Google Maps. It looks like a normal toll booth. I thought that too when I first started driving through it.

But, I’ve learned something about that toll booth. It is a donk magnet. I’ve seriously never been so infuriated by a toll booth in my life. There are three different ways to go through: Georgia Cruise Card, Exact Change or Cashier. Stupidly, I never got a cruise card even though I loved EZPass when I used to live in PA. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think I can use EZPass in Georgia. Anyway, I usually go through the Exact Change lanes because I keep a stash of quarters in the car. The problem comes in at that point — people will pull into the Exact Change lane and then just sit there. It’s like they just assume they have 50 cents sitting around and they’ll find it at their leisure. I’m not complaining about people sitting there for 5 or 10 seconds to gather a few dimes and nickels together. I’m talking about full-fledged parking in the toll lane to START looking for change. They happily just park there for a few minutes or more. And once you’re behind them, inevitably someone else pulls up behind you and you’re stuck. The only way to get these people to move is to lay on the horn after giving them 60 seconds or so. I don’t care if they get a ticket for going through the toll, they’re morons for going into that lane without exact change. And it isn’t like I see this infrequently. It happens ALL THE TIME. It’s retarded.

Anyway, I wanted to vent. If anyone else drives through this toll on a regular basis, am I seeing things? Or is this toll really the donk magnet that I think it is?

thepokerdb update

As I’m sure a bunch of you know, we had some problems with the first release of the Bluff version of thepokerdb. The biggest issues were…

1. Incomplete/non-existent updates
2. Some emails not being sent out to users
3. “Remember me” box not working on the login system
4. Extra features (like Buddy Lists) not working at all
5. Some parts of the site were too dark
6. The search box didn’t hold your last site searched
7. The search box didn’t receive focus when the page loaded (ie, you had to click in it before searching)
8. Some of the tabs weren’t set up quite right
9. Some of the calculations weren’t being performed correctly

Those were the biggest problems. The good news is that they’ve all been fixed for the version that we’re going to release soon.

I don’t really expect the site to be perfect when we release it. It’s going to take months to iron everything out and get all of the features that we want to be on the site working correctly.

But the re-release should be a big improvement. I think there’s a good chance it will be out in the next 7-10 days.
