Caption Contest
$50 on PokerStars to the best caption for any of these pictures.
Here are the rules:
1. You must post the caption along with the picture in the P5s OT forum. See this thread: http://www.pocketfives.com/poker-forums/13/Caption-Contest-50-on-Stars-to-the-winner-1329563.
2. You can either photoshop in the text or just write it below the picture. Note that I’m partial to well-done text bubbles in the picture even though just writing out the caption can win also.
3. I am the judge, but I will likely be swayed by responses from other OTers.
4. There isn’t a deadline.
5. If all of the captions absolutely suck, then the $50 gets added to the next P5s OT league as a bonus for the winner.
6. You can do as many captions as you wish. There is no minimum or maximum and you can do more than one per picture.
7. Please do not edit out the BLUFF watermark.
8. Photoshopping AND adding a caption is both allowed and encouraged, although it is not a requirement.
That’s it and good luck
Balla Watch Contest: $25K WPT Championship
I’ve been taking pictures for Bluff at the WPT Championship and I started to get a little bored in the later days, so I decided to track down the most impressive-looking watches and try to get pictures of them. Some are a little hard to see, but it isn’t easy to get sharp pictures of the watches at a good angle when the lighting is poor and the players are moving their arms around. Anywho, this is what I came up with (click on any thumbnail to see a larger image):
| Imper1um | Phil Ivey |

| David Oppenheim | Patrik Antonius |

Vegas Report: One Week In
It’s been really up-and-down. One day I think I love it out here and I want to live the rest of my life here. The next day I’m ready to pack up and go home within the hour. Sometimes I think I should just go home to Atlanta or Philadelphia and cut my losses with regards to the lease and moving expenses. Other times I am wondering whether I’m doing the right thing committing to another year at an apartment in Atlanta. It’s been the most up-and-down week of my life.
Unfortunately, I can’t discuss most of the reasons for why it’s been so up-and-down. They’re personal for me and as much as I would love to write and get my feelings off of my chest, I can’t.
Stay tuned, I have no idea where I’ll be in a few weeks.
Bellagio Employee-Only Area
I was taking pictures today for Bluff at Day 1b of the $25K WPT Championship. After a few hours and no breakfast, I was a little hungry, so I mentioned I was going to get a quick bite to eat. Court, the P5s tournament reporter, mentioned that, as a press person, I would be able to get into the employee-only buffet. The entrance to it is through a set of white double doors just to the left of the regular buffet.
And I have to say, that area of the Bellagio is extremely “oompah loompah”-like. It looks different than the rest of the casino, but not really in a worse way. It’s just different. Maybe because of the lack of gaming. Either way, it was bizarre to be walking around in a crowd of maids, dealers, floormen, etc. The buffet itself was actually pretty good. It wasn’t too different from the regular buffet upstairs.
Oh, and no one ever gave me a second look. I think pretty much anyone could go down there and load up on food at the buffet.
Whew, it’s been awhile
Sorry about the lack of updates here. I promise this was a one time thing.
The reason I’ve been so slow is because I just moved out to Las Vegas. I’m going to maintain my apartment in Atlanta, but I need to be out here for most of the WSOP for a bunch of reasons. One is that I’m going to be taking pictures for Bluff at the WSOP. But I am also taking pictures at various other events. For instance, I took pictures at Day 1a of the $25K WPT Championship today at the Bellagio.
In terms of my apartment, I leased a 2 br/2 bath apartment about 5 minutes from the Rio on the west side of the strip. It’s ridiculously easy and fast to get to the Rio, it’s pretty cheap and it’s nice, so it works well. I’ll put up some pics of the apartment at some point once I have it completely set up.
Anywho, the Monte Carlo Part Two is on the way and I’ll be blogging pretty regularly now that I’m done with the bulk of the moving chaos.
