don’t look now but…

… the all-new World Series of Poker website is getting ready to do something that I don’t think has ever been done before. Tomorrow (Wednesday, May 2nd) they’re going to be testing a system to broadcast the final table of a major tournament with holecards (on a delay) for free. I know that PokerStars has done some cool things with broadcasting final tables from recent EPT events. I also know that Live @ The Bike has done some really cool things with regards to almost-live cash game shows with holecards. But I think this might be the first ever near-live webcast of a major final table with holecards. Pretty exciting stuff.

However, this is a test that Bluff (since we’re running the WSOP website now) is running in preparation for doing this all summer at the actual WSOP. I expect technical problems throughout the broadcast. Hopefully this live test will help to ensure that the actual WSOP events will be broadcasted smoothly. And, of course, if this one goes well, then it’s just a bonus.

On another note, congrats to bmac for winning the caption contest from my previous post.
