Home safely
I arrived home safely in Philadelphia a few hours ago. The drive from Indianapolis wasn’t too bad, but 4 days of driving 10 hours a day has kinda worn on me. I’m exhausted. Time for sleep. Pictures later. Just this one for now.
Driving across the country
I’m currently nearing the end of a cross-country drive from Las Vegas to Philadelphia with my friend Eric. We’re driving a bunch of my stuff + my car back to Philly. My friend Ben is getting married this weekend and soon after I’ll head back down to Atlanta and resume working on thepokerdb with BLUFF. As far as I know, I’m done with Las Vegas for awhile and possibly forever — I’m just not a fan of the city as a place to live. I do plan on visiting relatively often though, possibly as much as a few times a year.
Our roadtrip started Friday afternoon around 2 pm when we left the Penske location in Las Vegas and headed off for Albuquerque. We had to take an alternate route down to 40 because we REALLY didn’t want to unpack the truck for a Hoover Dam inspection. That added some extra time. Add in the hills in a slow truck and the 8 hour drive took around 10 or 11 instead including stops for gas. Yesterday we drove about 10 hours from Albuquerque to Tulsa and today we drove another 10 hours from Tulsa to Indianapolis. I’m writing this from my Indianapolis hotel room. Tomorrow is the last day — Indianapolis to Philly. It’s around another 10 hours. We considered doing the whole thing in three days, but we had to pack up a bunch of things Friday morning so we got a late start. It just wasn’t possible to do without exhausting ourselves and since the only cost of doing the whole thing in an extra day is another $100 bucks for a hotel room, we just decided to go for the 4 day route. 10 hours per day isn’t exactly short, but it also doesn’t exhaust you because you can take your time in the morning, get enough sleep, etc.
I will have some pictures for the next entry once I get them off of Eric’s camera, which has been riding in the cab of the truck with us.
Good luck to everyone in the Main Event.
Why even bother fishing with a pole?
I found this to be pretty funny, although I’m really not sure why. Either way it’s pretty amazing.
