Screw the skis, get a wakeboard! I know at least with wakeboarding it's the same way. When you first learn it can take a few days to learn to get up for some people, even weeks. Once you get it, you got it though.

Nat, sounds like the boat is not going fast enough. If your skis are going under like that I am sure that is the problem. Remember, the larger the skis(more surface area) the slower you can go and stay up. For instance, barefoot skiers have to go really fast like 40-50 mph. For skiing you should typically be going 20-25. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work on P5s and 2+2.

^^^^^^ See above.

When you start out, the person driving needs to gun the shit out of it to get you up.. if you want them to slow down after you're up that's fine, but they have to get you out and on top of the water first. Once you've skied a couple hundred yards or whatever, they can back off the throttle a bit so you don't wipe out. Once you get the hang of it, you probably won't want them to back off anyways.

Sounds to me like the boat isn't going fast enough. Part of the trick to learning how to ski is to have someone driving the boat that knows how to get you on them and keep you up.
